Mu Rwanda, indwara y’agahinda gakabije (depression) ikomeje gufata indi ntera, mu gihe benshi bagitekereza ko ari uburangare bw’umutima cyangwa uburwayi bwo mu bitekerezo, aho kuba ikibazo cy’ubuzima bw’imitekerereze gikwiye kuvurwa.
Abahanga bemeza ko iyi ndwara iri mu byihishe inyuma yo kwiyahura kurushaho kwiyongera ndetse n’ihungabana rihora riboneka mu bantu batandukanye, cyane cyane urubyiruko n’abagore.
Dr. Uwineza, impuguke mu buzima bwo mu mutwe, avuga ko buri mwaka hakirwa abantu barenga ibihumbi bitatu (3000) bafite ibimenyetso by’agahinda gakabije, ko ariko abo ari bake ugereranyije n’abagafite batabizi cyangwa batinya kugana kwa muganga.
Ati: “Agahinda gakabije si uburwayi bwo gukabya. Ni indwara nyayo ifata imitekerereze n’imikorere y’umubiri. Umuntu ashobora kurangwa n’umunaniro udasanzwe, gucika intege, kutagira ibyishimo n’ibyiringiro ndetse rimwe na rimwe akararikira kwiyahura.”
Ubushakashatsi bwa Minisiteri y’Ubuzima bwo mu mwaka wa 2023 bwerekanye ko 1 mu bantu 5, aba afite ikibazo cy’uburwayi bwo mu mutwe mu gihe 8% by’abakiri bato bafite ibimenyetso by’agahinda gakabije.

Ati: “Natekerezaga ko ari umunaniro usanzwe, ariko byarushijeho gukomera. Byaje kurangira banjyanye kwa muganga, bamenya ko mfite agahinda gakabije. Kuvurwa byamfashije kumenya ko atari ukunanirwa, ahubwo ari indwara isaba ubuvuzi.”
Abahanga bemeza ko imyumvire ya sosiyete ari imwe mu mbogamizi zikomeye mu guhangana n’iki kibazo. Hari benshi bumva ko kujya kwa muganga w’indwara zo mu mutwe ari ikimenyetso cy’ubusazi, bigatuma abafite ikibazo baceceka kugeza igihe gikomeye.
Umunyamabanga wa komisiyo y’igihugu ishinzwe ubuzima bwo mu mutwe (Rwanda Mental Health Council) avuga ko bateguye gahunda yo kongerera ubumenyi abaganga bo ku bigo nderabuzima kugira ngo bashobore gutahura kare ibimenyetso.
Ati: “Turashaka ko umuntu wese uzajya kwa muganga kubera kuribwa umutwe cyangwa umunaniro azajya abanza kubazwa niba hari impinduka mu bitekerezo bye cyangwa mu mibereho. Ibyo bizafasha gutahura kare ababa bafite agahinda gakabije.”
Nubwo hakiri imbogamizi, hari intambwe yatewe. Mu bitaro byinshi by’uturere hamaze gushyirwamo abashinzwe ubuzima bwo mu mutwe, kandi gahunda yo gutanga ubujyanama ku buntu mu bigo by’amashuri n’amadini yatangiye gutanga umusaruro.
Abahanga basaba abaturarwanda guhindura imyumvire, bakamenya ko agahinda gakabije ari indwara ivurwa kandi umuntu ashobora gukira neza.
Ariko hari abamaze gutsinda urugamba rw’agahinda gakabije, bakaba urugero rwiza ku bandi.
Niyonshuti Eric, umusore w’imyaka 27 wo mu Karere ka Huye, avuga ko nyuma yo kwiyumvamo ubwigunge bukabije yagiye kwivuza, ubu akaba asigaye afasha abandi banyuze mu bibazo nk’ibye.
Ati: “Namenye ko ntari njyenyine. Niga uko nasubiza ubuzima bwanjye ku murongo, none ubu mfasha abandi banyuze mu buzima bugoye nkanjye.”
Imiryango n’inshuti nabyo bifatwa nk’inkingi ikomeye mu gukiza abafite agahinda gakabije.
Inzobere mu by’ubuzima bwo mu mutwe zisaba buri wese gufata umwanya wo kuganira, kumva no gushyigikira abahuye n’ibi bibazo aho kubacira urubanza.
Dr Uwineza yemeza ko guha umwanya ufite agahinda gakabije ari intambwe ikomeye.
Ati: “Iyo dushyigikiranye, tuganira ku byo duhanganye nabyo, nibwo twubaka sosiyete itugarijwe n’agahinda gakabije.”
